Project 4, Exercise 1: Documentation Phases

Notes

  • It’s important to recognise that all of the documentation produced across the “phases” are in intrinsic parts of the archive and the archive itself is the “Documentation of the Made”
  • In the context of my project, the documentation “phases” are actioned on two layers:
    • An individual journey layer
    • An overall project layer
  • Would it better to use “formative” and “summative” to describe the documentation approach? Phases suggest clearly defined project milestones, whereas in the context of my work, there will be significant overlaps
  • I will allow the end form of the phenomenological archive to arrive during the process of making, rather than predetermining it now – or fairly soon. I am developing a sense of what it could be as in my post “Structure of an Encounter Record part 2” – but this is only an initial idea
  • At present, I am solely responsible for documentation as my collaborator is a place, my hometown of Hastings. As the project progresses and human contributors should join, I will reassess and redistribute documentation responsibilities
